Sean focuses his practice and teaching on social and environmental action through a form he and his wife call ‘Ekodo’. Sean lives in Takaka, Golden Bay.Sean is an environmental finance consultant and social entrepreneur by profession through his consulting business Carbon Partnership and his carbon neutrality charity Ekos.
Sean and his wife Jo host weekly zazen at their home in Takaka, Golden Bay (Monday evenings 7:00-8:45pm). They also run retreats and workshops typically focusing on the intersection of Zen practice and environmental and social action. For example, in 2017 they ran a retreat entitled ‘Zen and Deep Ecology’ co-hosted with Australian activist John Seed - one of the founders of the global Deep Ecology movement.
